Frequently Asked Questions …

Whats in your puds?

We use ethically sourced non-hydrogenated veg. suet, free range eggs and organic flour. No mixed peel (candied peel). They are all Dairy free and vegetarian with some that are wheat free and some egg free.

How to store my pud?

They need to be stored in a cool (6°c -10°c) , dry and well ventilated place (larder or cupboard or hung up in a garage) .

How to microwave my pud?

The microwave instructions/timings are on the website in the extra information for each product. Top tip - put a mug of water quarter full with water alongside the pudding in the micro- wave, then the water will add steam and make a better pud.

It is not recommended to microwave 3lb, 4lb or 5lb puddings, but if you have to, zap the pudding for a couple of minutes then let stand and then zap it for another, let it stand and test with a metal skewer if the skewer comes out hot all the way along it is ready.

If steaming them they need anything from half an hour for the puds up to 2lb and the big 3 up to an hour, I usually say, put it on as you sit down for your Christmas meal and it will be ready when you have finished your turkey, also not to stand it in water, we don’t want a soggy bottom!

How to steam my pud?

They can be steamed as they are, keeping the silicon parchment paper and calico on.

Are the puds already cooked?

They have been steamed for 8 hours already and therefore are cooked so they just need to be heated up.

What kind of almonds do you use?

There are flaked almonds in the puddings.

What to do with left over pudding?

They are also delicious cut into slices and fried in oil, butter, brandy butter or bacon fat then eaten with a full English breakfast on Boxing day or any other time of the year!
